Five days is a long time to spend living and working at this site. The altitude seems to affect everybody differently, and past performance is no indicator of future returns. But there is no feeling which matches the satisfaction of taking off, leaving behind an operational telescope with an overhauled powerplant. The mental transition from frustration to relief over the course of just a few hours in the air is overwhelming.
