A team of six are travelling to the South Pole, and then up to the Antarctic plateau to service a remotely-controlled astronomical observatory. We only plan to spend five days in the field, but due to the remoteness of the site, altitude acclimatisation, inclement weather and many other factors, it will take us at least six weeks to get there and back.
